Standing With Ukraine at the Scottsdale Polo Party

The 12th Annual Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships sponsored by Raven Events took place on November 4th. As part of the #ArizonaStandsWithUkraine campaign, Cactus and Tryzub was gifted a tremendous opportunity to bring awareness to the war in Ukraine. Set against the glamorous backdrop of the Scottsdale Polo Party, a renowned event that attracts a high-profile crowd, the booth served as both an educational space and a fundraising hub. Visitors were invited to learn about Ukrainian culture through embroidery displays and authentic traditional clothing, kindly lent to us by Ukrainian National Women’s League of America Phoenix chapter. An exquisite hand-made three-tier karavai (Ukrainian wedding bread) was made with love for us by local European bistro, Soup and Sausage.
The ongoing war in Ukraine and is having a profound impact on millions of people. Through informative displays, handouts, and personal stories, the booth highlighted the resilience of the Ukrainian people and the urgent need for global assistance. The booth played a bridging role, connecting the local community with the global cause, fostering empathy, and making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by the crisis. Our guests also had an opportunity to learn how they could continue to stand with Ukraine here in Arizona. Small yet meaningful actions, like contacting state senators and representatives, writing letters to the Administration, regular donations to Ukraine-oriented charities, attending and sharing about community events - all add up to nationwide and global efforts of supporting Ukraine’s fight for freedom.
Donated items at the Cactus and Tryzub booth raised $435 to benefit the Dignitas Fund - an organization which supports Ukrainian men and women on the front line with non-lethal aid.
Our presence at the Polo Party served as a reminder that even in times of conflict, communities can come together to make a significant impact on the lives of those in need.
